I am David Karasek, a Republican candidate for the Florida House of Representatives, District 2. I am a Republican conservative and believe in conservative principles. My principles do not waiver with the political climate. My candidacy is not about me or my opponent; it is about the citizens of District 2. My primary focus is to get back to the common sense approach and to represent the people. As the Webster's dictionary states, "The representing of a constituency". Many times I have been asked by the citizens of District 2 my stance on certain issues. I relay my opinion to them and then ask them a more important question; "What is your opinion?"

I retired in March of 2008, from a 30 plus year career as a public servant with the Florida Highway Patrol as a Major. My wife of 25 years, Sonya, serves as a Lieutenant with the Florida Highway Patrol. We have one son, David Jacob; who I am proud to say began his law enforcement career in 2008, with the Florida Highway Patrol. My son has often heard me say the only person who controls your reputation is you. The minute you allow others to control your reputation, your reputation is lost!

Folks, I am a new comer to politics and I am proud to say as a private citizen, candidate, and an elected official , I will support: Pro Life, the Right To Bear Arms & to KEEP those arms, Traditional marriage between one man and one woman and the enforcement of the 10th Amendment and the Constitution; as it was written. I feel that our founding fathers of our Constitution thought that their future countryman would have 'walking around sense'. To interpret the Constitution as they intelligently and specifically drafted it.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with our Constitution. The problem is the reading between the lines, adding to or taking away specifics to present their views for personal gain. As Ronald Reagan stated, "We must move away from the Government mindset that if it moves tax it, if it keeps moving regulate it and if it stops moving, subsidize it".

I am a common man who wishes to get back to the basics and put Gods law above all. WITHOUT THAT ALL IS A MUTE POINT!!!
